Your customers are on a phone, on the freeway, on cell data
Half of Houston's working day happens in a vehicle. Somebody needs an AC guy, an attorney, a tow - they're searching from a parking lot or a passenger seat with two bars, not from a desk on fibre.
A site that opens in one second on wifi and eight on LTE is a slow site. LTE is the real test.
Most of that weight is avoidable: photos dropped in straight off the camera, a page builder shipping code for features you don't use, tracking scripts left over from a campaign that ended two years ago.
- Images compressed and served at the size they actually display
- Scripts loaded only on pages that use them
- Tap-to-call number visible before you scroll
- Tested on a real phone on cell data, not a desktop simulator
